IT SUPPORT PERSON
General Description: Hardware and Software maintenance for a small computer centre (1 server and 21 PCs) for English language students. The computer centre is located in a Vietnamese People’s Army language learning institution in Gia Lam. It operates its own website for internal and external student and teacher access. The computer centre provides resources for learning English and also managing the administration and teaching of classes.
Job Tasks:
• Administer Windows Server 2003 including: Internet Information Server and Group Policy
• Maintain MySQL databases
• Ensure website is running correctly
• Maintain Proxy server software
• Administer automatic nightly downloads as required
• Write / Maintain VBScripts as required
• Maintain back-up strategy and ensure backups are being successfully completed
• Maintain up-to-date PC disk image (using Acronis software)
• Maintain networking: PCs are wirelessly connected; ADSL internet connection
• Maintain hardware and software for PCs: Windows XP and Office XP platform
• Ensure PCs have database access for administration software
• Troubleshoot hardware and software problems as required
• Provide consulting for hardware / software purchases and upgrades
