Visas for Defence Personnel Visiting Vietnam – Official Business

Defence personnel who are proposing to visit Vietnam on “official business” are requested to submit a visa application to the Defence International Travel Section (Canberra). The Defence Travel Section will then submit the visa application to the Vietnamese Embassy as well as contacting the Defence Section in Hanoi to obtain a Visa Authorization Number. The Defence Section will obtain the authorization number and then forward it to the Defence Travel Section for further action.

It must be noted the Defence Section in Hanoi does not issue Visas for Vietnam. The Defence Section only assists in obtaining a visa from the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs
