PERMISSION TO WORK ARRANGEMENTS FOR STUDENT VISA HOLDERS
From 26 April 2008, applicants granted student visas receive permission to work in Australia with their visa grant. As a result, most student visa holders no longer need to apply separately in Australia for permission to work.
While student visa holders have work rights automatically included in their visa grant, the work conditions themselves will not change.
Applicants granted student visas before 26 April 2008 can still apply separately for permission to work. More information about this is available on the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) website.
