This information is intended for applicants wishing to visit Australia for tourism or other recreational activities (holiday, sightseeing, visiting relatives or friends and short-term non-work purposes including short term study).

Sponsored Family Visitor Visa (subclass 679) must be lodged in Australia by the sponsor. Visa applicants should complete Form 48S - Application to visit Australia as a sponsored family visitor and send it to their sponsor in Australia along with all other supporting documents. The sponsor should complete Form 1149 - Application for sponsorship for sponsored visitors and lodge both form 48S and form 1149 with the supporting documents at their state or territory DIAC office.
