Financial Assistance

For various reasons, travellers in Vietnam may find themselves in the situation where they have little or no money. In an emergency, the Australian Government is able to provide a very limited monetary loan to travellers. Initially, however, travellers should make arrangements to access extra funds via the following means:

• Bank account/s,
• Credit card/s
• Debit card/s, or
• Transfer of funds to Vietnam by family/friends.

A document containing information to assist travellers in accessing further funds while in Vietnam can be obtained from the Consular Section of the Embassy in Hanoi or the Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh City.
